Word of the day: McAdemic

McAdemic (n): As in McJob. Member of teaching staff at a lesser university. De-skilled, under-qualified, under-paid and with a high workload. Characteristic of those higher education systems, institutions where high student numbers are valued over academic standards, revenue valued over student development, passrates valued over intellectual curiosity. Enables such systems, institutions to claim that higher education is being made available to "the many and not the few", while in reality well-off students continue to enjoy educational and other advantages over "the many", who are being force-fed ersatz, poor quality university education.
